Garden

Capstone Rural Health Center introduced a community garden at the Capstone Parrish location in 2011. The community garden is a natural extension of the Capstone Rural Health mission created to help combat obesity and sedentary lifestyles, foster a passion of gardening, extend our hand to the community to promote healthy living, and to educate and encourage replication of gardens at home for patients and the community.

The garden produce is free of charge to Capstone Rural Health patients and the Walker County community. Staff members and volunteers work in the garden on Tuesday mornings to ensure fresh produce is always available during the winter and summer seasons.

For questions about the garden and volunteer opportunities, please feel free to contact the Outreach Department at 205-686-5113.
