Julia Smallwood, RN

Julia Smallwood is the Director of Nursing for Capstone Rural Health Center. Ms. Smallwood is responsible for overseeing registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and medical assistants. She is responsible for work schedules, delegating assignments, establishing policy and procedures, setting goals and standards for the units, and working with other staff as needed to ensure that patients are receiving the care they deserve.

Prior to joining Capstone Rural Health Center, Ms. Smallwood worked for the past 22 years at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of North Alabama.

She currently resides in Oakman with her husband, Marc and her 3 children: Savanna, Sidney and Shelby. She is currently serving as the Secretary for the Oakman Band Boosters Club and loves teaching Bible class to the 4-5 years old class at Midway Church of Christ. In her free-time she enjoys watching TV and soaking up the sun by the pool.
