Marcy Brown is currently serving in the position of City Clerk/Financial Officer in the City of Dora. She brings with her knowledge of business management
principles involved in strategic planning, leadership technique, resource allocation, coordination of people and resources. She owns an accounting
office and carries out several activities such as preparing tax returns, complex or simple, to corporate businesses or individuals.
Marcy Brown obtained an Associate degree in Accounting from Bevill State Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government
from Ashford University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Management at George Washington University. In addition, she has
attained several certificates for involvement in community training programs such as Master Municipal Clerk from the University of Alabama in 2015,
Certified Municipal Clerk from University of Alabama in 2012, and Leadership Walker County Graduate in 2010.
Marcy Brown has the heart of a servant and is committed to her community for bringing positive change.She is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors
for Capstone Rural Health Center, Board Member of East Walker Chamber of Commerce, and member of Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO).
In her spare time, Marcy enjoys working in her flower beds, attending Alabama football games, and traveling with her family.However, her greatest passion
is her love for volunteer work in the community working with the underserved. She believes that hard work, serving others, and working for a common
goal can bring the changes needed for a better tomorrow.
