Dr. Sounick Haldar joined Capstone Rural Health in August 2020.As a Primary Care Physician with expertise in General Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Clinical Pathology, Dr. Haldar serves patients at both the Parrish and Jasper Cottage locations.
Prior to joining Capstone Rural Health, Dr. Haldar served as a Visiting Associate Research Scientist in Neuropathology at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Haldar simultaneously held the roles of Deputy Director of Medical Laboratory and Primary Care Physician in the Internal Medical Department at a Federally Qualified Health Center.
Dr. Haldar is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University where he obtained a Master of Science in Biology degree with his thesis related to Molecular Biology and Neuroscience and completed his Residency in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Haldar obtained an MBBS (equivalent Doctorate of Medicine) from N.K.P. Salve Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Center.
Dr. Haldar has received numerous awards and accolades for his research and publications on an International, National, State and Local level.Dr. Haldar is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American College of Preventative Medicine, American Society of Clinical Pathology, College of American Pathologists, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, Medical Association of the State of Alabama, and Sickle Cell Society of India.
In his spare time, Dr. Haldar enjoys music, meditation, and spending time with his wife and son.
